KOEN TASELAAR & THOMAS TRUM

'Untitled'

The Arch is thrilled to present this exceptional collaborative work by artists Thomas Trum and Koen Taselaar. Made for an exhibition in 2015, it screams the experimental characteristics that identify both artists’ working methods. A single 100-meter-long painterly stroke was used to make this striking geometric composition. While Taselaar unwinded a receipt roll, Trum was pressing a dried brush, dipped in India ink. Part by part was then glued on a wooden surface. The work combines the single stroke method of Trum’s celebrated ‘markerdrawings’ with the chaotic graphic lines that characterise Taselaar's horror vacui drawings.
